Deputy David G. Smith
David began his career in law enforcement in 1981 with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. He worked as a correctional officer and attended the first Jefferson county Sheriff’s Academy in 1983. From 1984 until 1990 he worked as a patrol deputy before transferring to the warrant division where he worked for fourteen years. In 2004 David worked a short time with the courthouse Security Division and the Airport Security Division.
David holds a Master Peace Officer certification and the Civil Process Proficiency Certificate.
David transferred to Precinct 1 Constable’s office January 1, 2005.
David is married and has a beautiful daughter of whom he is very proud of.
