Constabe Wiggins
Mission Statement of
Precinct One Constable

To uphold the office of Precinct One Constable’s office and to serve precinct 1 with professionalism, efficiency and integrity, dedicating ourselves to the citizens of Jefferson County by always being courteous and respectful of others while upholding the laws of the State of Texas.

 

Constable Charles L. Wiggins, Jr.

Charles or Charlie as we call him was born in Precinct 1, Jefferson County in 1959 and attended Beaumont public schools until being graduated in 1977. Charlie then attended Lamar University in the Criminal Justice Program. In 1982 he hired on with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department under then Sheriff, Dick Culbertson. In 1993 Charlie transferred to the Precinct 1 Constable’s office with then Constable, Charles H. Conn. After Constable Conn’s retirement Charlie took the office of Constable in the 2004 elections and was re-elected without an opponent in 2008.

Constable Wiggins holds a Master Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Commission On Law Enforcement and numerous certificates from Lamar Institute of Technology on law enforcement continuing education courses. He is a graduate of the Constable’s Leadership College, Bill Blackwood Institute of Sam Houston State University.

Constable Wiggins is involved in many civic activities including the Beaumont Founders Lion’s Club and the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL). He also supports fundraising for the Girls Haven Gumbo Cook-off and the Boy Scouts of America Chili Cook-off. Constable Wiggins and his staff also support the Catholic Diocese of Beaumont’s Saint Katharine Drexel Humanitarians Health Fair, a yearly project for which his office provides security. In 2004 Constable Wiggins established “The Constable Wiggins Scholarship” to Lamar University for financial need criteria for High School Seniors.

Constable Wiggins was nominated and named the “Boss of the Year” for 2008 sponsored by the Neches Chapter American Business Women’s Association.

Constable Wiggins is a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Beaumont and
in his spare time he likes to fish, golf and hang out with his friends.
