Patrol
Mission Statement: The mission of the
Patrol Division is to provide protection of lives and property
in Jefferson County with pride and professionalism.
A patrol deputy is responsible for investigating
all types of criminal activity, making the required reports, and
filing the appropriate charges in an attempt to deter criminal
activity. They also apprehend violators involved in criminal activities
and target potential areas of such activities to enhance enforcement
efforts. Patrol deputies also enforce all traffic laws within
Jefferson County in an attempt to make our roadways safer. Jefferson
County is approximately 975 square miles and divided into three
districts. The Deputy Sheriff is assigned to a district of the
county to preserve law and order, respond to, investigate, and
provide written reports for a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency
calls, misdemeanor, and felony allegations. The deputy may have
to provide court testimony as needed.
